Things that happen when exams get too much

Oscar Wilde
Even after following several blogs for a few years, I've never felt like there's been a good moment/excuse to start one of my own- that is, until studying for second year university exams became too much to handle and then it just happened. And so, inspired by this...

THINGS TO DO INSTEAD OF REVISION:

Shopping (window and actual, online and off)

It is fair to say I am a serial procrasti-shopper, whether or not I'm trying piles of clothing on in-store or hitting the 'confirm order' button online. It's such an easy way to wile away time, and there is something about admiring an online basket full of hundreds of pounds worth of things you want but shouldn't get... or that's just me and it's actually just odd.

ASOS needs to stop doing so many 346576% off offers because I have no money as it is and I can't resist a good deal (except please don't ever stop).
Favourite purchase:
hi messy room
I'm 5'5 but the length is actually spot on considering it's a Petite range dress. Can't wait to find excuses all summer to wear it! Also picked up a sheer white cami top and a pair of boots.
Had a less successful endeavour with Forever 21 and ended up returning basically everything I bought, but I have kept these sunglasses (and in looking for them on the website I've just gone and stumbled across a Celine trapeze bag lookalike and now I want it oops). A trip to the Bullring after my first exam yesterday also meant I've gained yet more loungewear and rings.
Of course, clothing isn't the only medium for enabling splurges- it's all about food too. Everybody loves food.

Food experimentation

Tip 1: if for an absurd reason you decide to try bacon wrapped bananas, listen to your first instincts and don't- all you will experience is the taste of confusion and regret.

Googling recipes and trying things out is a perfect way to procrastinate, and because everyone needs to eat you can't feel too guilty! Been saving this Slutty Brownies recipe up from The Londoner as a reward for after exams and I CANNOT WAIT.

Catch up on TV

By 'catch up on TV' I mean it more in terms of catching up on entire seasons of shows you suddenly feel passionately about, like my new found obsession for any TV shows involving wannabe models or baked goods. I'd go for a show about both too if anyone has one in the works (Google has lead me to Vogue's Model Bake Off- this is a good start but WHERE IS THE DRAMA?!)

Plan your summer

Berjaya Resort, Langkawi (CHALET'S ON STILTS OVER WATER I AM SO EXCITED)
From holidays to day trips to finding a dreaded job, the amount of procrastination is almost endless. I've found more restaurants and places to go in Malaysia than will be feasible to visit during our ten day trip at the end of June, and a girls holiday to Prague hasn't even been given it's fair share of attention yet (noted for when I get bored later).
However, in between all that fun, I'm looking for a job at the moment too for this summer, after I didn't manage to get an internship. This point is actually constructive and helpful for your future so it's okay to take out some time, honest... although, mind, starting a job search always seems to lead to procrastinating from your procrastination and that's when you realise you're in trouble...

And I suppose I should mention: make a blog.
