Jumping on the bandwagon: Teatoxing! (w/ Bootea)

Recently, a friend of mine happened to accidentally order three lots of Bootea and so I asked if she could sell me one of the extra batches as I'd been curious about trying 'teatoxing'.

I've seen a lot of Instagram/Twitter posts lately raving about teatoxing and how, with diet changes and exercise, it can really help you to lose weight. Of course I'm sceptical, but I'm also a sucker for trying anything once just out of curiosity, especially something that's saying it'll help with weight loss (and as mentioned in my first post, procrastinating is all the rage in my life right now and a teatox fits the bill)

Bootea 28 Day Teatox

I've gone for the 28 day teatox from Bootea, a British and one of the more well known retailers who sell 'weight-loss tea', which comes to £34.99 on Bootea's website (plus postage, and they ship worldwide!). Bootea are very supportive as a brand, and very much into 'fitspiration' on their social media pages, which I really like. They also provide a diet plan to go with their teatox program, which basically calls for no meat and no alcohol and plenty of fruit for snacking. Everything and anything is explained really well on the website, so you'll have no trouble finding out anything you have queries on.

As I've only just started, I can't say much about the effect it's having. I'd been cutting down on carbs and calories in my diet prior to this (although I have occasionally been eating meat still) and exercise is very haphazard what with exams still going, so if any weight-loss is directly due to the tea I feel I'd be able to tell. Also a little bit concerned about the side effects of the Bedtime Cleanse, with one of its ingredients 'Senna leaves' apparently having a fun-filled side effect (I'll let you go ahead and find out what that is!)

The daytime tea actually tastes great in my opinion- like standard Chinese tea with a little kick. Bedtime tea is a bit more like marmite (in the sense that you'll either love it or hate it- the tea does not taste like salty yeast extract thankfully) as it's peppermint flavoured, and fortunately I quite like it! As I'll be drinking them both for a month it's good to know it won't be a chore.

Most blog posts I've seen have done the 14 day version. Not sure if they'll be a huge difference in doubling the time but we'll see! Will be posting at the mid-point and end of the 28 days with all the results and a full review.
